Overview
PixelCopy is a Windows desktop app published by Mako Logics LLC under the MakoBytes brand. The desktop app runs locally on your PC and does not send your captures anywhere unless you explicitly choose to upload them with the optional Pro subscription. This policy covers the pixelcopy.app website, the waitlist form, Pro accounts and payments, cloud uploads, and what the app itself does with your data.
What pixelcopy.app collects
When you visit this website we collect:
- Anonymous traffic analytics via Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights — page views, browser vendor, country, and Core Web Vitals percentiles. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking.
- Server access logs kept by Vercel for operational and security purposes (rate limiting, abuse detection). Retained for a short period, then discarded.
We do not use third-party advertising or marketing pixels (no Google Ads, no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight, no Hotjar). We do not sell or share visitor data with anyone.
Waitlist signup
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- The email address you typed in.
- Whether you opted in to beta testing (the checkbox on the form).
- Your IP address and user-agent string at the moment of signup, used only for abuse detection and rate limiting.
The signup form is bot-protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a non-tracking CAPTCHA-style challenge. Turnstile does not store visitor fingerprints across sites and does not require cookies. Confirmation emails are sent through Resend — our transactional email provider. Your address is stored in our private Supabase (Postgres) database; only Mako Logics staff can read it.
We will email you a single time when PixelCopy ships. We do not run a newsletter, drip campaign, or marketing list. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Pro accounts, payments, and cloud uploads
If you subscribe to PixelCopy Pro, we additionally store:
- Your account record — email address, a license key we generate for you, your subscription status, and your Stripe customer identifier. Stored in our private Supabase (Postgres) database.
- Payment details — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card number never touches our servers and we never see it. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the checkout and billing portal (stripe.com/privacy).
- Captures you choose to upload — stored in our cloud storage (Supabase) and served at the pixelcopy.app/s/… link the app hands you. Anyone with a link can view that capture, so share links like you'd share the image itself. Nothing is ever uploaded automatically.
Your license email and receipts are sent through Resend. You can cancel any time via the billing portal link in your license email; after your paid period ends, existing share links keep working but new uploads stop. To have your account or uploaded files deleted, email hello@pixelcopy.app and we'll do it promptly.
PixelCopy desktop app
The PixelCopy Windows app is local-first. Every capture, annotation, recording, and OCR pass runs entirely on your PC using Windows-native APIs. Nothing leaves your machine unless you:
- Subscribe to the optional Pro tier and use the upload-and-share feature.
- Drag a capture file out of PixelCopy into another application (browser, email, chat) — that app then takes over.
- Allow the auto-updater to check for new versions (a once-a-day HTTPS GET to our update endpoint, sending only the current version string).
The desktop app does not include third-party analytics, ad networks, or telemetry SDKs. Crash reports — if you opt in — are sent in structured form to our internal error dashboard so we can fix bugs. Your captures are never included in a crash report.
Cookies
pixelcopy.app does not set any tracking cookies. Strictly necessary cookies may be set by Cloudflare Turnstile and Vercel's infrastructure (e.g. to identify the deployment serving your request); these are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Sub-processors
The third-party services we use to operate this site and the waitlist:
- Vercel — hosting, analytics, speed insights.
- Supabase — Postgres database (waitlist storage).
- Cloudflare — Turnstile bot protection on the waitlist form.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (waitlist confirmation).
When the paid app and cloud features launch, payment processing will be handled by an industry-standard provider (Polar, Stripe, or similar) — we never see or store your card details.
Your rights
You can request a copy or deletion of any data we hold about you by emailing hello@pixelcopy.app. If you only joined the waitlist, the only thing we have is your email address and the beta-tester flag — we'll remove both on request.
